It's worth knowing that true hypoallergenic dog food is actually a very specific thing. It's highly processed food where the proteins have been chemically modified through a process called hydrolysis, so the dog's body can't recognise them and triggers less of an allergic response. These diets are typically reserved for dogs with severe allergies, which are quite rare.
