Advice on food safety states that if previously cooked foods are thawed in the refrigerator, you may safely refreeze it. For this reason, if your dog’s food is still cold to the touch when it arrives, you can safely refreeze it. However, if the food were to be returned to us, it would defrost for a second time and then be refrozen, rendering the food unsafe to use as there is a higher chance of bacterial growth.
There is also a contamination risk for returned food, and for your safety and the safety of our other customers, we can never accept returned food, as we cannot guarantee it has not been tampered with.
